Decades Supporting Dentists
For generations, Ritter Dental – formerly known as Gritter Dental – has supplied Australian dental practices with quality equipment from world-leading manufacturers. Leon Gritter, grandson of the founder, has directed the dental business for 30 years and continues as head of dental at Mediquip since it acquired Ritter in 2018.
Ritter Dental is now known as Mediquip and is backed by the strength of Mediquip’s Australia-wide team of field service engineers. The Mediquip dental portfolio includes nitrous oxide Relative Analgesia equipment from Accutron, dental autoclaves and washers designed for dentists by Tuttnauer, surgical instruments by Helmut Zepf, compressors, suction and separators by METASYS, and more. Mediquip supplies to family dental practices, public sector dental hospitals and specialist clinics − including paediatric dentists, maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists and endodontists − and supplies spare parts to dental technicians.

Service and Validation
Mediquip was founded as a medical equipment servicing business in 1983 and has an Australia-wide team of field service engineers able to support dental practices.
Servicing of Relative Analgesia / nitrous oxide sedation equipment and piped gases must occur on a regular basis or at least annually, according to ADA Policy Statement 6.33 Relative Analgesia in Dentistry and ANZCA PG09(G) Guideline on Procedural Sedation. Mediquip’s field service engineers support dentists with regular servicing and validation for all brands of Relative Analgesia systems.
Accreditation and regulatory bodies in Australia require dental practices to ensure their patient areas are routinely checked. Mediquip can provide annual re-certification of these areas to verify they meet Australian Standards for compliance and patient safety and test medical equipment for electrical safety in line with the Australian Standard.
The Mediquip team provides service and repairs, testing and validation for a variety of medical equipment utilised in dental practices. Mediquip locally stocks a range of dental spare parts and components from respected manufacturers in Europe and the USA that is generically able to fit across a broad range of dental equipment for repairs and service. As well as for use by Mediquip field service engineers, it supplies these parts to dental technicians.
Practical Solutions for Dental Professionals
As well as supply of dental equipment, spare parts and service and repairs, Mediquip supports a number of training courses for dentists across Australia in conjunction with our partners – and has worked with Australian Dental Association state chapters and the Australian Implant Association.
