Blood Pressure Assessment Trainer
Enhance blood pressure assessment training with adjustable systolic and diastolic settings, realistic pulse palpation, Korotkoff sounds and real-time pressure monitoring in a lifelike adult arm model. Available with or without a tablet.
What BP and pulse ranges can be programmed?
Systolic and diastolic BP can be set between 35-240 mmHg, and pulse rate between 40-140 beats per minute, covering a wide range of clinical presentations from hypotension to hypertensive crisis.
Can it simulate an auscultatory gap?
Yes. The auscultatory gap can be toggled on or off, allowing instructors to test whether learners recognise and correctly account for this common source of BP measurement error.
What assessment techniques can learners practise?
The trainer supports auscultation, palpation, and combined auscultation plus palpation techniques, with Korotkoff sound volume adjustable across five stages and pulse intensity across three stages.
How does the real-time monitoring support learning?
Cuff pressure changes and decompression rates between systolic and diastolic are displayed in real time on the monitor, giving learners immediate visual feedback on their technique throughout the assessment.
Can it be used for both training and self-evaluation?
Yes. The trainer includes both training and evaluation modes with pre-programmed clinical scenarios, allowing learners to practise independently and assess their own performance without instructor input.
