   The BPH663 replacement tissue insert is compatible with the full Gen II Central Line series — both the hand pump (BPHNB670-HP) and automated pump (BPHNB670-AP) configurations. It is not compatible with earlier generation Blue Phantom central line models.
2. How do I know when the tissue insert needs replacing?
   When needle resistance noticeably decreases, imaging quality degrades, or fluid leakage becomes consistent despite correct refilling, the tissue insert has reached the end of its useful life. Replacing the insert restores full model performance without needing to replace the entire base unit.
3. How difficult is it to replace the tissue insert?
   Replacement is straightforward. Slide the existing insert out of the base, remove the fabric backing, and fit the new insert. No tools or technical expertise are required, keeping downtime between training sessions to a minimum.
4. Is this a cost-effective alternative to replacing the full model?
   Yes. Replacing only the tissue insert rather than the full base model significantly reduces the cost of maintaining your simulation program, while restoring the same imaging quality and needle feel as a new unit.
5. Are there any usage requirements to maintain insert performance?
   Yes. Only Blue Phantom ultrasound refill fluid should be used with this insert, and needle insertions should be made with 18-21 gauge, sharp, unbent needles only. Using other fluids or needle types will degrade tissue integrity and void the warranty.
