1. What is the STOPS Blast Trousers trainer used for?

It is designed to train responders in managing severe inguinal and upper leg haemorrhage injuries commonly encountered in combat and trauma scenarios.

2. Why is this injury difficult to treat?

The wound is positioned above effective tourniquet placement, requiring advanced haemorrhage control techniques such as wound packing, direct pressure and vessel clamping.

3. Can wound packing be practised?

Yes. The wound cavity is designed to accommodate up to two rolls of gauze for realistic packing exercises.

4. Does the trainer simulate active bleeding?

Yes. When connected to the STOPS Blood Pumping System, it can simulate rapid blood loss of up to 3 litres in just over two minutes.
